EPPING FOREST ESCAPE

EPPING FOREST ESCAPE
Annapolis, Maryland

After deciding against demolition and total rebuild, this client challenged Bob to reorganize a dysfunctional plan while maintaining the scale and character of the existing house.

Bob’s solution opens up the rear of the home and simplifies the plan by organizing the ground floor around a large open kitchen with direct connection to both a renovated family room and wrap-around screened porch and deck. A wet bar creates a transition between kitchen and dining room and a pass-through allows for service to the screened porch. A secondary entrance provides access via a mudroom and leads to a renovated playroom and laundry room.

Throughout, the scale of the new elements complements the existing home and neighborhood—a modern renovation that fits with the home’s existing context.
