LAKE OGELTON GETAWAY

LAKE OGELTON GETAWAY
Annapolis, Maryland

Faced with a challenging site and an irregular existing house, Bob’s maximized views of the lake for this active family. Large windows stretch the length of the water-facing façade, creating a kitchen/living/porch space perfect for gathering. A study along the more private edge of the site opens up to the screened porch via an operable window wall that creates a space ideal for entertaining.

A second-level en-suite master occupies one wing of the house while two additional bedrooms, each with spectacular views of the lake, occupy a second wing. The house’s composition is defined by a simple gable roof form intersected by a central gambrel roof whose eaves extend to the first floor. The waterfront façade nonetheless incorporates generous windows with high first-floor ceilings to maximize the views and promote a visual connection to the pleasures of waterfront living
